Welcome to the Back 2 Basics Golf 10 part
drill series. This is the Clock Drill. Clock drill, is a favorite drill of both Phil
Mickelson and Jordan Speith as well as many other   pros. Step one, place eight balls in a circle
around the hole, equal distance from each other,   starting out probably about three feet is
good. Step two, putt each ball in succession,   moving around the circle until you've made 16 in
a row. That's two full rotations around the hole.   If you miss any of the three footers, stop, and
start completely over from the beginning again.   If you're already a good putter, you may want to
up the ante a little bit and move to that four,   five or six-foot range. This is a great drill
forcing you to have total concentration over   each and every putt. By incorporating pressure
as you work to avoid having to restart the   entire drill, it trains you to
handle the situation with stress   that comes with sinking those three-footers. That
will also help you when you get out on the course.

Start this drill on a flat surface so that
all eight putts are straight. But if you want   to up the ante a bit and make it a little bit
more realistic, start around a hole with some   slope around it. That way as you work around
the circle you'll have some different putts.   You're going to have some right to left, some
left to right, some uphill, some downhill,   all changing the different perspectives
of these putts. This is the Clock Drill..
