today we're going to be looking at three different sets of forgiving styles of clubs now these sets range from 150 pound at the low end to 800 pound at the top end and then 450 pound in the middle now these sets are going to include the tail mate sim 2 the tail mate m2 and the phaser xr2 so i just wanted to see really what the main differences were between all three of these sets and now the main thing or at least the first thing that popped up was the custom fit option now it's only the top end of the sim 2 that you could currently get custom fitted on or at least for 2021 so if you're wanting for example like a longer or shorter shaft or a different type of shaft different grips etc you could only do that with the top end set as for the other two sets they just come as they are straight off the shelf and then another one will be the amount of technology that's gone into each club and just the material that they're actually made out of also the actual name on the club has quite a lot to do with it so for example with these ones everybody's pretty much heard of tail made because they sponsor the likes of tiger woods macro and a pretty big portion of most of the top players so it kind of makes sense that tail may do put their prices up for one if people are seeing them on tv they're more likely to pay a bit more money towards something if they know like the best players in the world are using that brand and then for two they need to have some way of making all the money to pay for these top players to use their clubs and then as for the phaser clubs these are actually owned by american golf when american golf sell them not buying them in previously from elsewhere so they're not having to mark up the price so that is a big difference in what they can sell them so anyway let's get on to actually testing these clubs and seeing exactly what the difference is between them in terms of the numbers how to do this i'm going to be handing you a route to our team golf club tester so the bomber as usual is going to hit 10 shots with each one and then we'll take a look over the numbers at the end after he's hit all of these shots he's only going to play a few holes with them and just see the differences between them so starting off with the phaser set now the first thing that you notice with this type of set is just the size of the head so they made these heads oversized which means that they're just really big and have a really big sweet spot meaning that you get a lot better results of off-center hits and it just makes them really easy to use and really forgive it and the shafts that you get in this set of irons is made for somebody again who is just getting into playing so they're still shafted but they're not too stiff and they're not too light they're somewhere over quite a nice medium and the grips also are pretty good that's one of the things that you probably see wear out quicker than maybe like a more expensive grip so basically they're not like the prettiest of clubs they're not the most sought after type of club they do the job perfectly and they do everything that you ask of them now for the m2 set now when these first come out back in 2017 you could actually get custom fitted on them but as their previous model you can't any longer get fitted on them so they just come again as a standard set like the phasers set so the grips probably feel on par with the phaser set but they may last a bit longer shaft wise the m2 shaft is probably a bit better than the phase one bit better quality and might just help you out a bit more than the phaser ones now something quite big difference that you'll notice is the actual feel off the face so it just feels a lot better with the m2 and just feels like you're getting a bit more power behind the ball i mean a good example of this m2 set is if you take a look at the iphone so they've just released an iphone 13 but for most retailers you can still buy an iphone 7 8 which probably around the same sort of time as this m2 set now you could argue there isn't a huge amount of difference between the iphone 13 7 and 8 but i do know they've added in a few extra things like a different camera more camera lenses and things like that well the overall actual function of what the phone is there for really is like using apps making calls sending messages that type of thing obviously you can still do that on an iphone 7 or 8.

So you're actually still getting like a really good product you're just not getting it to the same level as the iphone 13 or obviously in this case the m2 compared to the sims moving on to the sim 2 now this is basically just a newer model of the m2 with a bit more tech in it now what's interesting is if we look at what bryce and deshambo did he actually went back to a driver that was from the same sort of time as the m2 so along with the newer technology in it they always seem to spice things up and just make things look a bit nicer so that's going down to the grips and the head overall so you have that and then as i touched on before the custom fit option and just having that included in the price just opens up a lot more options into making sure that you're getting the clubs that are perfectly suited to you and now all 10 shots have been hit let's just take a look over the numbers and just see exactly how they compare to each other with the club head and ball speed we're seeing quite a bit of a difference between the tail made irons and the phaser ones both the tail made were fairly similar just a fraction better with the sim two ones over the m2 which you obviously would expect with it being four years at a newer club but both of them you've seen quite a bit of a difference there over the phaser one launch angle was pretty similar between all three shot shape was pretty similar once again now backspin was quite an interesting one actually because the sim 2 was down quite a bit from the m2 and that's not something you typically see with new clubs unless they're a bit of a lower loft but as these are both the same loft for the sim 2 and m2 like i say that is quite an interesting number to see but then the phaser i wasn't expecting that to have much spin but that is actually spinning more than what the sim 2 is not too bad of the spins lower if it's going in uh overall higher height and stop and like come down a bit steeper but it actually wasn't and the m2 was going higher and that was coming down steep is going to be stopping a lot quicker than what the sim 2 is and then the phaser was quite considerably lower than both of these two in terms of distance and with a bit of a faster club and ball speed the sim 2 was carrying four yards further and rolling out six yards overall further so you can see with the lower flight it is getting that extra roll over when it carries with the sim 2 from the m2 and so the phaser was carrying seven yards less than the m2 13 yards less than the sim 2.

In terms of average dispersion well the m2 actually won this with a zero average offline the sim2 actually had the widest spread of the three so the biggest distance between left and right phaser actually had the smallest with 11 yards between them but that's probably why it was averaging further left because everything was going left and nothing really going to the right but yeah from what i'm seeing there i mean there's quite a bit of a difference between the two tail mig clubs and the phaser one but between them two i mean to me the m2 seems to be looking like the better option like you could sacrifice the four yards extra carry with the same for that extra spin and a bit more control with it coming in steeper and going a bit higher i mean i'd more than happily sacrifice them four yards now let's place these three into the bomber's leaderboard just to see how they can pair up against all the other ions he's previously tested the phaser i wasn't really expecting too much of them but they actually did all right especially given that they had a one for the locks because honestly they don't look that great which you're never going to find the nicest looking clubs with something so forgiving the sim 2 was a bit disappointing i already have this actually in the leaderboard from a previous video which performed a bit better than this one even though it was a lower lofted version that time i would have liked to see that place a bit higher than what it did as for the m2 though i thought he was doing well when i actually saw the numbers coming in but i didn't expect an almost five-year-old club to be as high up the table as it is pretty much sums up why they're such a popular club at the minute at such a really good price so after finishing the testing of the seven irons the bomber then took them around six holes on the grabbers that's one question the other week on another video why he's doing it on a simulator on the brabazon and that's because i only have 200 odd subscribers and these brands won't just send me a set to go try it onto a course and i'm not just going to go buy all these sets to use them for six all all three of the sets were with a forza sandwich set and there was no woods or anything else that he was using puts were going to be a gimme one putt from 10 foot and in anything between 10 and 50 foot was a two port and if an over 50 foot was going to be given a three buck so that just takes out the putting element of it now the longer irons between these sets was a similar story again and basically just exaggerated what we already knew the sim was just getting out there a bit further and because he wasn't using a driver or any woods it was helping with hitting the four iron off the tee quite a bit further phaser just wasn't stopping quick enough on the green and rolling just outside of the one put zone whereas the other two were stopping pretty quick and had a lot more control over them now when it came to chipping i personally don't like chipping with set wedges that much because they're quite bulky behind the ball and it's a bit harder to get underneath them as much so with the phaser with them being a bit of a bigger head it was getting up and down with pitches and chipping around the green it was coming up just a bit further away than the other two whichever more holes more days are playing you probably notice it more rather than just over six holes we have the sim in the m2 finished level for the six holes and the phaser finished one over like say the phaser just couldn't get it close enough to set up a birdie and the m2 made two bogeys in the sim just the one playing with the taylormade sets just felt a bit more premium the tail mid sets just give you a bit more confidence when you're setting up to but it goes to show that you can still play really good golf with whatever sort of set you go for i touched on before depending on circumstances the low budget set can do plenty enough of a good enough job for you just if you're looking for something a bit more premium with a bit more attack to it and something just that feels a bit nicer as always i recommend just going and trying them and seeing for yourself then how much of a difference there is and if you can justify the difference in price i'm always interested in to knowing what you guys think about these videos and the products that i'm trying so let me know in the comments that'd be great thanks for watching and i'll see in the next one
