Now I am willing to bet you if we did one
of those blind testing sessions, you know where they cover up the back of the club so
you can't see the manufacturer, I'm willing to bet that several of the testers would pick
this club as the easier to hit cavity back in the test. The amazing thing is this club came out in
1999, 14 years ago. But this is the Ping i3 Oversize iron. When it came out and for the next 2 seasons
it was the bestselling iron in the world. Now what was considered ground-breaking back
then is pretty much standard fare for an iron right now. Very big oversize head. Lots of offset for forgiveness. Very big cavity at the back for forgiveness. Custom tuning port. All the things that were considered revolutionary
back then pretty much standard now. So I'm willing to bet you like I said, on
a blind test lots of guys would pick this out. This club is as relevant today as it was in
1999 and certainly as easy to hit.
That's the Ping i3 Oversize. I'm going to have a few more hits with this
before I put it away..
