Hi, I’m Peter from DIGIFIZmini And I’m going to show you
how easy it is to install our USB charger using the optionally available
Plug & Play wiring harness The first step when doing any work
to your vehicle’s electronics is to disconnect the battery The Plug & Play wiring harness
connects to the back
of the cigarette lighter To get access to it,
we need to remove the center console It’s held in place with three screws One on each side,
and one beneath the shift boot Remove the gear knob by
turning it counterclockwise and the shift boot by gently pulling
the frame around it up to access the last of the three screws With the seats moved
all the way to the back
and the handbrake lever up it should be possible
to pull out the center console and turn it at an angle
to access the back of it To make room for the USB charger
remove one of the unused blanks Remove also everything around it
to make routing of the cable easier Here comes the trickiest part
of the installation You’ll need to guide
the small end of the harness
from the tunnel up to the dash A missing radio
and enough light
really helps with this situation Once you’ve been able to grab the connector immediately plug it into the USB charger
to avoid it from falling back down Unplug the cable from the back of
the cigarette lighter and plug it into the matching end
of the USB charger harness It only goes in one way so there’s no chance of
putting it in the wrong way Connect the remaining loose end
to the cigarette lighter and all that’s left to do
is putting everything back together
in reverse order Connect the battery And charge your phone In your Mk2 At blazing speed Without having the ashtray open
