– We had to sign this super
fancy, confidential agreement. Absolutely no photography or social media posting of any kind. – And over the last few months, I have – Wait, does this count as social media? (upbeat music) (golf clubs whipping) (grinding) – Welcome back to "What's
Inside?", I'm Dan. – Hi, I'm Lincoln. – And today we are reviewing one of our favorite things in the world. We love golfing.
(xylophone chirps) We love, love, love it. Did I say love enough? We love golfing. – Yes. – Well, every single year, TaylorMade comes out
with a brand new driver and this year they have a new
driver, it's called the SIM – SIM dos.

– SIM dos? – SIM dos. – Is that the official word of it? – It's actually the SIM2. – SIM 2, yeah. – But it's the same thing. – They sent us this, they
sent it to us in the fall and now it's January,
it's about to come out. Do not open any packaging
until told to do so. There's four packages,
one, two, three, four. Contents will be returned to TaylorMade HQ after presentation. – Wow.
– So, after this presentation, we will be (chuckles) returning
these contents back to them. Absolutely no photography or social media posting of any kind. (paper crumples)
We're doing it. We are opening it up. So today, we're going to see the brand new TaylorMade SIM dos, as Lincoln calls it,
– SIM dos. – driver and then we're
going to review this driver, like actually test it out. Go to our golf simulator, test it out, see what it's like,
get Lincoln's thoughts, since he's somebody that has been using the SIM driver for a while.
– Yep.

– Now let's see what the SIM2 is like. (package crumples) Uno. I feel like we need
to say all Spanish words. – This is
– Oh baby. – [Lincoln] Yes, top of the driver. – There's the driver right there. Oh, it's so light. So the top of the driver,
just like last year's driver, is carbon fiber. I already like what I'm seeing. Is that not "What's Inside?" colors? Blue, light blue, white or gray on there. Oh man, that is so light. That is crazy.
– Oh wow, yeah it is. – Okay, there's number one. I just learned there is this
little slit right there, which means I don't
need a dangerous knife. – Oh. – Yeah, I do not need
– Oh Yeah lookit, there's a
– Oh baby, there is the face. This is the face of the driver. – [Lincoln] Yeah, so far looks
pretty much the same, I'd say – Well, it does, except on
previous driver, the SIM, there are two screws
right here on the front.

– Two. – And on this one, they've
now taken the screw and they've moved over
to here to the side, so it's not on the face anymore. And apparently what
that's allowed them to do is to make the face a little bit thinner. If you look on the back,
I think it's really cool the way that the machine cut this and cut some out of the face
to make the face super thin, so you wanna be able to
get that ball bouncing. You wanna distribute the
weight on a golf club in a certain way. – Whoa, yeah.
– Look at the way they cut that.
– That's cool. – Let's just open all the parts. – Okay.
– Now it's time to build a golf club, like a little Lego. Okay, so we've got
(chuckles) this part on, the 10.5 SIM2, which way do
you think it goes? Maybe. Oh that looks like a good fit. Oh, we are building a driver.
– Yes, and then this goes – If you didn't know,
the inside of golf clubs, I know they're huge but they're
hollow inside, like that.

They're just hollow. This is the speed pocket,
right here it's a speed pocket. So if you look down here, there's some little
squishy stuff right there. We're putting the two tops
that are incredibly thin and then the back on it. (fast forward chirping) (club snaps)
– Whoa. – Oh. – Okay, so I got this
blue part on (chuckles). This is fun. This is
– Yeah, and this – the weight that they've
put on the back of it. 16 gram. – There it is.
– There is a speed injected SIM2 driver head, that we are going to return to TaylorMade. It is beautiful. It looks like it was made
for "What's inside?". – I really like how there's
not the huge extension thing. – Since then, they have sent us a box with a present inside of it. (upbeat music)
Welcome to the brand new drivers. – The SIMs. – This is it. – I love the new head covers,
– SIM2. – by the way. Like I really, really like these. – We have an actual driver. – Lefty too, lefty.
– This is before they've even been announced
and shown to the public.

There are a couple golfers that used this in Hawaii in Kapalua but really nobody has seen this. And so TaylorMade did
not sponsor this video, other than they sent us
these clubs for free. So thank you
– So thank you very much. That's amazing.
– for sending this. It's only a left handed club, so luckily we have a left
handed golfer in here. (plastic zips) Oh, that was satisfying.
– Yes. (plastic crinkles) And we also have a three
wood, SIM2 Max, boom.

Is it three wood? – Yeah, it's a three wood. – Oh that's nice. All right, we are gonna
go into the simulator. We're gonna test this
out on our simulator. – Into the sim with the SIM. – With two.
– Yep. – And Lincoln's wearing
the wrong hat today. – Yeah.
(sheep bleats) – [Dan] Lincoln, this is the shot that I expect you to hit right here. (plastic rattles) – Oh my goodness. – [Dan] Just like that. – That was deep. – [Dan] But with the SIM dos. Can you tell that Lincoln
golfs and uses his clubs? Look how dirty this is. This is the SIM, this is the one he's been using for the
last like six months. What are you seeing that's different? What do you like? What do you don't like? – Can't tell the screws,
can't see the screws. – On the face?
– On the face. – [Dan] Okay, let me see that. – Yeah.
Yeah, so there are those two screws on the SIM and then the next generation has it on the other side.
– Has it right there. On the SIM2, there's
a lot of carbon fiber, so I don't think it should get as dirty.

– The actual writing's in metal, where this one looks like
it's just sprayed on there, like paint that's sprayed on there. So right now what we're
doing is taking off the shaft of the driver that they've just sent us because Lincoln has been dialed in, his own shaft that works
with his swing speed. So we wanna put the shaft that he knows is perfect for him onto the SIM2. The more loft you have, the higher the ball's
gonna launch and go higher. Lincoln has learned that he
likes it to have less loft because if he hits it so
high, he loses distance. He'd rather hit it further and straight versus just hitting it high
and coming down and stop, so.

– Yeah, I usually hit
larger cuts or slices when it's a higher loft, so. (club pops) – [Dan] Ooh, that sounded bad. Did you break it? – You've never tightened a club? (laughs) – I don't know.
– That's what you do. – That is, that's it?
– Yeah, then you stop at the click. – [Dan] Oh that's scary. (Lincoln laughs)
Whoa. – It feels more like the
TS2, Titleist driver, and it feels more like it when
you're standing over the ball and it feels like, I don't know, it's kind of weird but it feels (club whooshes) more aerodynamic. (club whooshes)
(ball smacks) – [Dan] Not bad little lefty. – 105 club speed. – That's fast for you. – I just didn't hit it good. Like you can tell right – [Dan] Oh yeah, the
first hit on the club.

Where does it, does it show? He hit it over here on this side. You wanna hit it right
there, as we saw earlier. Like try to hit it in the
middle of the club face. (club whooshes)
(ball smacks) (club whooshes)
(ball smacks) – [Dan] (laughs) You're hitting it so high and so much spin. – [Lincoln] 5000 spin. (ball smacking) – If you're somebody that is
going to learn how to golf, you wanna get into golf, I really, really can't stress enough, go to your local golf shop. A lot of times they have
hitting bays like this inside of the golf shop and the guys
– The speed drivers. are really helpful. – They'll get you different drivers, they'll switch the shafts out for you. Usually don't even have
to pay them for that and they'll let you dial in and see what club works best for you, whether it's the driver head, the shaft. And they do that for free,
the local golf shops, really. Dick's Sporting Goods,
some of those shops.

You don't wanna just buy a
club they call off the rack, you just grab it pull
it down and hit with it, because you might be
hitting the ball way left, way right, a little inconsistent. But if you can really dial in
the shaft and the driver head, which a lot of golf pros are more than happy to help you with it, it could really help your
enjoyment with the game. Because if you can keep
that little tiny white ball on the green grass more than
in somebody's back yard pool, then your golf game is a lot more fun.

Take a look at where Lincoln hit the ball. (Lincoln laughs) Do you see those lines on there? We got tee marks. You definitely like to
hit it more on the toe, a little bit on the toe
instead of on the inside. You did have a couple that
you hit on the inside. – Yep. – You have a nine degree driver right now and this one is a 10.5. So he's hitting it two degrees higher, so it's launching higher. – Yeah, and both of them
are delofted two degrees. – But overall you feel
like this is lighter than your other one is what you're saying. – Yeah, I feel like it's lighter. I feel like my swing speed's faster. – They could actually be
that the club is not lighter, it's just the way that
the weight is dispersed and the way that it feels
and the aerodynamics of it, it might just move a little bit faster.

Like the swing speed was actually pretty close between the two. – Yeah, it was.
– Which was surprising 'cause you felt like it was lighter, like maybe more balanced. – Yeah, definitely. – We're gonna do some more testing. It's so fun, it's so
fun to hit a new driver, the latest and greatest in technology. Overall you like it? – Yeah, it's great. – I'm not sure when they
even sell these things because this is not,
like I said (chuckles), this is not a sponsored video, they just sent us a
new driver to test out. TaylorMade, great job with the new SIM2. – Thank you.
– I'm excited to get one in my bag
– Thanks TaylorMade.

– And get tested for it, get
fitted, see what it's like. But yeah, we're gonna go
play some simulator golf. Hope you guys like our golf videos. – Yeah. More golf videos. – I would hit it but
this is me, watch this. – Don't hit the driver, dad, no. – Ready, here we go. Tiger Woods.
(ball smacks) I'm terrible left handed (laughs). I'm not that great right handed but I'm a lot better than
I am (laughs) left handed. All right, see you guys. – Bye. (plastic rattles).
