Lift – push in,
lift – push in. hello seniors, my name is Vaughan
Hawtrey and you are at Vaughan Hawtrey Golf. Lifting your foot and
pushing your heel into the ground has many benefits.
And that's what I'm going to explain to you today. Lifting the left heel allows
for good hip rotation and it also allows for much better
shoulder movement because they want to twist around enough to have their
back facing the target. This gives you more excitement more power.
This gives you more time to swing down. This is good for
rhythm. It's good for timing and you see a lot of very good players like Jack
Nicklaus, Johnny Miller, Phil Mickelson doing it. So I suggest
you practice this twist first.
As you rotate, please maintain
spinal angle – of course, do not straighten. It
is necessary. So take your time – you have plenty of time
swinging. After you roll up,
the first thing you do is push that heel really hard into the ground
. The arms may be dropped down. I
'm not doing it consciously or anything – I'm not even thinking about it.
I just make sure that my racquet is as loose as possible in my hands
and if I start the swing by pushing my heel in, then
we automatically lower our arms. This push in will
keep you slow here and have proper speed through the ball.
I'm going to consciously
try to push right in there after I do that full spin and we'll see how far I can hit that ball
.
It's important
to hold the racquet as loosely as possible. and you really feel a lot more
speed from it and you 've let gravity do the work.
Ok so thanks for watching to the end and see you
next time..
