[Music] hi i'm adam keough and i'm the professional at wardlesbar and i'm here to share my top tips for chipping first piece of advice we've got here for you today is trying to strike the ball properly so when we're around the green generally we've got to get the ball a little bit up in the air and rolling across the green surface when we're chipping so we need to try and control where the club starts to hit the ground the club is designed to skid across the turf it's not now digging into the turf or scooping the ball up into the air so to help that we're now going to position the ball directly below our sternum so i've got this cane on the floor helping me my feet are equal either side and my sternum now is over the top of the ball that's going to encourage or increase the likelihood of the club bruising the ground below the ball and therefore chipping the ball up into the air so i'll demonstrate here my sternum now is over the top of the ball and i'm now starting to move to increase the likelihood of chipping the ball into the air okay so my second piece of advice here now we've got the ball in the correct position in our stance we've got the ball in the center below our sternum we need to ensure here that we've got our shoulders to match the ground it's very easy to get your shoulders leaning backwards trying to almost help the ball up into the air it's very important here that we almost get the shoulders level to the ground the feeling here of almost the lead shoulder in my case i'm right-handed my left shoulder the left shoulder feels like it's a little bit lower i'm now level to the ground that's going to increase again my chances of starting to connect with the ball below the below the equator and therefore chipping it into the air and if i just demonstrate now my left shoulder now feeling lower to the ground i'm now in a position where i can start to elevate the ball into the air okay so my third and final piece of advice here would be around starting to move okay so now we've got the ball positioned below our sternum and we've got our shoulders leveled to the ground we now need to move to apply the right of power to the golf ball so what i want us to try and feel here now with our armpits almost connected to our rib cage our rib cage starts to almost control the swing our rib cage opens our rib cage closes gauging the right amount of speed onto the golf ball and therefore towards our hole so if i demonstrate now my ball position in the center of my feet my shoulders level to the ground and my rib cage now almost controlling the length of the swing and the power into the golf ball [Music] you
