chipping and putting takes up more than fifty percent you know in our score right so even though uh we missed our drive or we didn't hit a really good second shot if we have a good short game we don't have to be really worried about our score [Music] all right guys i would like to add another shot into your bag which is what we call the bomb and run what's the difference between the chip and the bomb and run is the chip has a higher ball flight compared to the bomb and run shot the bomb and run shot will use it when we are actually around the grain where we want to hug the green as fast as we can and especially when the pin is really far away from us so not all greens or all golf course has really nice apron or fringes so we have to make sure that we have this short in the back so we can try to elevate the ball a little bit off the ground and then let it hug the green and then let it just crawl up towards the pin some golf courses has like about two or three three tier green and then we ended up hitting it short and then the pin is way back there and if we do hit our wedges sometimes we might not even get to the get to the pin or even just manage to reach it's the second tier then you have a long putt from there so we have to make sure that our bomb and run we're going to create less spin and let the ball release as soon as it hits the ground now i'm going to talk a little bit about the setup for bomb and run is pretty similar to the chipping but i would like the stance to be even smaller so it'll be somewhat about one clock face white now okay because it's such a small movement it's something like your putting so first of all you want to grip it a little bit more down so almost towards the end of the grip all right so stuns a little bit narrow and then i want you to stand a bit closer so when you stand closer i like to see that the heel is a little bit off the ground so why we want the heel to be off the ground is because i want to create less spin all right when we set up properly make sure that the weight is still about 70 65 to 70 on the left side and then just feel like you're putting so you can see that the ball actually start off low and then you hook the green and then it will release as well [Music] so i get a lot of questions about um it's really when it comes to short game it's all about feel uh which is true but i think feel comes from confident the more you practice the more you play the better feel you got okay but it's really important that we have a proper technique first proper technique proper tempo consistent contact only we can be able to make good chips and feel better i mentioned that we need to practice a lot more to get to feel better on the around the greens right so it is true that a lot of professionals do spend a lot of time on chipping and putting because chipping and putting takes up more than 50 you know in our score right so even though uh we miss our drive or we didn't hit a really good second shot if we have a good short game we don't have to be really worried about our score and you'll be able to enjoy better and gain more confidence if you can chip and putt well i have a lot of students that like to spend a lot of time on the driving range hitting hundreds of balls spending time hitting the driver especially but we only know that we might be hitting our driver maybe we might be only hitting 10 drives in a round of golf but if we can't chip and put well we might be hitting a lot of shots around the green hitting from one side to the other side of the green and then hitting back and forth and then we get frustrated and we don't enjoy it around so it's really important that you spend more time chipping and putting instead of spending a lot of time hitting balls on the range i would say you have to spend at least if you do spend about two hours if anyone has two hours a day to practice at the range or the shipping and putting area i would like you to spend about sixty to seventy percent of the time chipping and putting all right guys we got the chipping and the bum around short sorted out so practice as much as you can let me know how it goes if you have any questions feel free to ask me give me a like if you do like this video and also subscribe so i'll see you guys in the next video bye
