Hi and welcome to Golf Duff, where I
talk about tech, gear and tips for the high handicap golfer. To make you lower
your score, and play better. what I am going to talk to you about today is
something really exciting. It's the first golf ball I have ever found, for the high
handicapper. It's gonna make you play better golf! It is this, Callaway Supersoft Magna. It's the Supersoft family so, It's a good ball.
The big thing
about this golf ball, is it's supersized It's oversized. It's bigger than
your standard ball, but it's only three percent bigger. There is no legal limit
to how big a golf ball can be, it's a legal limit to how small it can be and
the weight of the golf ball. So what they have done here, is they have enlarged it
three percent, and it's not that much actually. You can see it when you hold
them next to each other, like I have two of them here, and this is the Magna and
this is the Wilson Deep Red, I don't know if you can see the difference, but I can't. I can
when I hold them like this, I can kind of see it, but it's not that much
bigger.
What does this three percent do? They make the center of gravity of the
ball. The center of gravity comes higher up on your clubface when you hit it, so you come
swooping down like this, and the center of gravity (of the ball) will hit the club, the center of the club, higher up on the clubface, than with a regular ball which will make it easier
to hit. It fly straight, it's accurate it's more consistent. What they have done,
because there is a limit to the weight so what they have done, is make the core
lighter. They have made the material inside in the center of the ball lighter,
so it is weighing the same as the standard ball, but it is a bigger ball. So
go figure.
I'm out on the course now, but I'm not allowed to play. Because the
courses is in Norway are still closed. It's actually snow on some of the
greens and I'm looking forward to play, because I
have a new set as well. I'm gonna talk about that later, in later videos, my new
