Hey it's Troy from
https://hittingitsolid.com here, thanks for watching. Here is a great golf
iron tip to help you play better golf. In your backswing and in your downswing
you need to gain hip depth to hit the golf ball solid especially with these
ions. It's absolutely key. So what am I talking about with hip depth? Well if I
set up to a ball here, as I make my backswing if I was to draw
a line right down the end of my butt there often called a tush line or a butt
line if I was to make a backswing
and lose that line i'm losing hip depth. If I stay on that
line i'm maintaining hip depth. Many great ball strikers actually gain
hip depth. they go back and their butt pushes
behind that line now why is that so important to help you strike your irons better well put simply
if you can gain more hip depth on the way back gives you more room
on your downswing on your transition to shallow the club and increases your
chances making centre contact hitting the ball
first turf second and really compresses those irons where
most golfers go wrong they either lose that hip depth on the
backswing but most commonly i see this all the time on the golf course on video swings i analyze
as they come down pelvis lips up
early extend they get away from that line
the shaft stands up taller and you lose all power and consistency
so the best way to do this is when you set
up to a ball stick your butt out as far as you can and then i want you to move your pelvis
slowly forward like that that will enable your pelvis and your
hips to push back further in the back swing
and actually gain
hip depth that way you can hit more consistent
iron shots let me demonstrate one for you
so i'm going to push my butt out i'm
going to pull it back in get that pelvis in
and i'm going to gain hip depth that was a nice strike give that a try i
know that that'll help you out.
