– What's up guys, this
is Trevor with Embers, we got brand new PXG equipment that we're gonna demo and
it's in that box right there. Love demoing new equipment,
it's one of my favorite things. But they also hit us up with some swag. Check this out, Chris. Let's get in here. This is fancy. Oh yeah. These are money hats right here. Check this out. It's the Aloha theme. (tropical music) How legit is that? – [Chris] Looks nice. – 'Cause I'm a island boy! I just got back from vacation, too. That's why I'm all tan,
hat matches perfect.
Let's open up this new equipment. (upbeat music) All right, real quick, if you're in the Denver Colorado
area, come to our showroom. This is our new outdoor barbecue showroom. That's coming together, outdoor living. You can come hit some golf balls, get fitted for some clubs,
whatever you wanna do. Just come down and have some fun. If you're new to our channel,
make sure to subscribe hit all the buttons, do all the things. Okay, we've got brand
new equipment from PXG. I'm gonna go ahead and use
this crazy expensive grill as a way to hold this box. That's what's cool about these grills, is they double as a box holder. As always, you get pretty
attractive packaging with PXG. Check this out, brand new equipment. Let's check it out. Boom, how sweet is that? So these are the brand
new Sugar Daddy 2 Wedges. Now we're gonna review these, I'm gonna tell you what's
different about 'em, and we're gonna hit a
couple, see what's going on.
So let's first talk
about the original model. Okay, so these are the brand
new Sugar Daddy 2 Wedges. If you're familiar with the Sugar Daddies, they're stinking awesome. They're a hundred percent milled, so that means the entire club head is milled outta one block of metal, which allows for full
consistency in manufacturing. All right, so this is the
original one and it worked great, but they've made some
improvements with the second one. So let's talk about it. So the first problem
was, with the old wedges, is you could only get them
in a 10 degree bounce. That was the only bounce you could get.
So depending on your turf
conditions, or where you live, if you're somewhere with firmer turf like we have here in Colorado, we have really firm dry grass, you're definitely gonna
want a different bounce than if you're in Florida
or someplace hot and humid, something like that. So they've come out
with different bounces. So you can see some of
these, you have two options, you have a 10 degree
bounce or a 13 degree. So some are 10, some are 13
and then there's the different, you can get 'em, you know, in all the different lofts, as well. So we got a hodgepodge of six here.
So that's the first thing
is the bounce is different. And then also you can see
the grind is different. So what do you mean by that? There's two different grinds. And again, depending on turf conditions we have the C grind and then
there's also the BP grind, which is for Bob Parsons. So you can see the grind. Now, what I'm talking
about here is the grind on the edge of this club here. You can see it compared to the old one, the old one again, we had no variety here. So again, we can choose our grind depending on turf
conditions, things like that. Now, as you guys know, I
am not a golf professional. So if you want more details on that, you're gonna have to look into that. But that's the gist of the differences as far as being able to make these wedges a little more customizable to you.
Now, my favorite thing
about the new wedges is if you're pulling like the Gen4 irons, which is what I have, you can see this weight is adjustable. When you get fitted, you can get fitted with a
different weight in here. Now that's just gonna be more
customizable to your swing. Now, me personally, I went with a pretty
heavy weight in this iron. And the reason I did that is because I felt like one of the
things I struggle with is coming over the top, like this.
And I feel like this is just
me again, I'm not a club pro, but when I'm here, I feel
like the extra heavy weight in that club head kind of
keeps me on my swing plane a little bit, instead of
getting a little wonky and coming out here. So I felt like this heavier weight like in my eight iron, per
se, when you're addressing and I'm at the top of my swing, I felt like it kind of keeps me on plane and keeps me from fading it.
You can see there I kind
of drew it a little bit. One of the problems I
noticed, like for example, if I'm going from my pitching wedge down to a full swing on my 52 degree, without these adjustable weight heads in the original Sugar Daddies, this club, when I'm addressing the ball at impact, it just feels like a feather. I mean, it's such a big contrast
between the heavy weight that I have in my irons and my wedges. That was a terrible shot. It's probably because
they're so lightweight, no just kidding. Anyways, so with this adjustable weight, I had these weights
fitted for my club heads. And so now let's say I
went from a pitching wedge to a 52 degree, let me try these and see if it's gonna feel
a little more appropriate or more consistent with, I can already tell, just holding it. It's gonna feel more like my irons. Which for me is good
for that muscle memory to kind of keep my swing path on track.
So let's try it. Oh yeah, that's it. It's gotta be the new club. It's gotta be. So for me, I can already
tell, just hitting a few. Actually what I'm gonna do
is grab my pitching wedge so you can see they're built
more on a similar platform now. So the club weight's
gonna be more consistent through the bag, which I think is good. Plus they're pretty, don't you think? – [Chris] They look good, yeah. – Yeah, those look good. So I'm gonna just kinda' go
back and forth a little bit. So this is just a regular pitching wedge, I just kinda wanna see how,
how the feels are on this. Not a great shot. Again, I'm not, I'm not a club pro, it's not like I'm a club
pro demoing these things.
I just love golf. Anyways, what I'm looking
for is that consistency. And more of a feel, you know,
when you approach the ball you want it to feel, you
wanna feel confident. And I think having the
club head feel the same, as far as club weight, is important. That's just me though,
as an amateur there, we. So for me, that's a big deal to be able to match it to my iron set. To me, that's, that's a game changer, and I think I'm really
gonna love these bad boys. Now, one other big difference,
which I also think is cool. Again, for the amateurs
in the world like me. Notice the difference
here of the club face. What do you see there? Like a traditional club or
iron the old one stop here. So now we have these grooves that go all the way to
the end of the club face. So for guys like me, that
will hit it off the toe, I'm gonna miss that
mark from time to time, I promise you that's gonna happen, that's nice to get the little more control of the spin even on a miss.
So that's really the three
things that are different. Let's kind of go through 'em again. The original Sugar Daddy already superior because they're full consistency
and completely milled. Of course that's the
same with the new ones, we can get 'em in both finishes. Biggest performance difference, I'm gonna say is this adjustable weight, which is really important if
you're already playing PXG Gen4 because you can match this
weight to the rest of your irons which is gonna give you full
consistency throughout the bag which I think is a big deal.
And then the fact that
we can do customizations on our bounce and our grind
angles is also important. Again, you can match that
to, to the way you play and where you personally
play at, is a big deal. And then the grooves going
all the way to the edge. So pretty, pretty cool improvements. I'm excited to get them in the bag. Again, so I'll just show
you the different varieties here in the bag, Chris. So we got a couple here in
a, has a 13 degree bounce with the BP grind and we
have a couple of the 10, 10 degree bounce with the C grind. But we got everything from a
50, to a 60, 58, basically, in two degree increments from 50 to 60. You've got six new wedges
to come down here and demo. If you guys want to come demo 'em, or you think you want to upgrade from the original Sugar Daddies, and you're in the local
area, give us a call.
We can hook you up with that and get you, get you fitted into the newer
wedges because you need 'em. They're pretty sweet. What else is cool is I, I
think they look awesome. And what do they say, Tate? If you look good, you feel good, if you feel good, you play good. – [Tate] That's right. – And these look good, these look money. Let's try a little 60 degree, 75 yards. Let's just put it right on the stick. Oh, that's all over it,
that is all over it.
Little short. Not too bad, let's see if we
can stick one a little closer. Here's a little sugar for
you, little Sugar Daddy. Just all over this thing right here. Oh yeah. What do they say? A little sugar because it's sweet. Don't get any sweeter than that. Run that back. – [Man] Pretty cool. – Yeah, so I mean, it's dead on the line. I can feel it. I can feel the club being more accurate. So for example, I'm gonna hit the old one. And I think with this
lighter club head, that club, the heavier club face,
is keeping me on target. Much better alignment. And that's due to this adjustable weight. All right, guys that's
the new Sugar Daddy wedge, much improved, super sweet. Again, if you're a Gen4
guy, you have Gen4s, you're gonna need the
matching Sugar Daddy wedges, I promise you that.
If not, get yourself a Gen4
bag, come down and get fitted. But that's the new Sugar Daddies, hopefully that helps you
understand the difference. And again, at home, you can decide if you think
it's worth the upgrade by finding out what those differences are. I personally think so, 'cause
it can be more customizable to your current equipment,
which is a huge deal. Thanks so much, stay tuned for next time..
