Welcome to the Back 2 Basics Golf, 10 part drill series. This is the Leapfrog Drill. The Leapfrog Drill. Step one, place a tee in the ground about 10 feet away. Step two, make your first putt attempting to roll the ball just past that tee. Step three, you're going to make the second putt and go even just a little bit further than your first one, with the goal being each putt that you make in succession is going to go a little bit further, hence the name, leapfrog. See how many putts you can do before the ball reaches the edge of the green. If you want to add a little bit of pressure to the drill, make it more realistic. If any putts don't make it past the one that you're succeeding, you have to start the drill all over again.
This will give you the help and feel for distance by judging how far you need to hit and how much energy you need to be putting into each and every putt. This is the Leapfrog Drill.
