hey everyone welcome to tour validated my name is
DJ Lantz and today we have a first look at the new Taylormade hi toe 3 wedges i'm really excited to
get these out on the grass we have a special guest in today from Taylormade golf who's going to talk
some of the tech details with me and we brought the foresight along to get some informational
numbers see how these things are actually spinning they look incredible but now it's time to go get
them on the grass and see how they perform so let's do it hey we see you watching these videos

excited to introduce the high tow 3 the newest member to the wedge family with some of the best
features that Taylormade's ever put in a wedge with full scoring lines raw face milled sole and
on top of that we've added an extra weight pad to the high toe for better sound better feel a
lot of guys see high tone think you know it's more of a performance wedge for a higher
handicap hi toe is going to have a ton of versatility all over the golf course but it's
also going to give you a little bit lower launch a lower flighted wedge for that guy who's looking
for that golf shaft right so when you think of wedges a lot of people think a high lofted wedge
should just go high but we found over time and you can look at it in terms of darts you don't want
to throw a dart like a lobster you would throw in a straight line and hit the target so being
able to control the spin and hit that flighted shot in there it's gonna give you a much higher
uh probability of hitting it close absolutely so i see you have three different wedges there all
60 degrees but we have different bounces so talk to me a little about what the bounces are yeah
so you know we keep it pretty simple um we don't want to confuse everyone with a bunch of numbers
everything now we will list how much bounce is on each wedge which is great but we're going to keep
it pretty simple we'll have a low bounce standard bounce and a high bounce as far as standard bounce
go we'll have standard bounce through 50 degree all the way to a 60 low bounce will offer it in
a 60 and a 58 and then a high bounce will also offer it in 60 and 58 perfect um something that
i love um you know especially us being in Arizona you know we get a lot of Canadians that come down
and visit us that seem to always be left-handed yeah um every wedge that we have that we offer
and right-handed will be in left-handed as well gotta love that obviously we're gonna have
more right hand so if you're left-handed you know get out order them early yep um but that
is uh something that again being a sales guy um that's really nice to have and especially when
we're out doing fittings and stuff that we have a wedge for every golfer out there love that so
now comes the fun part we've talked about some of the tech details in these wedges but now we
got to hit them so i'm looking forward to this seeing how they look from a top line perspective
but also how they feel that turf interaction we've got three different bounces to kind of work
through so we've got foresight here to give us some data you ready to do it i'm so ready let's
do it so before we get going um you know one thing we always want to find out is you know we want
to get you in the right wedge so so like like we said earlier we have three different bounces do
you know what bounce you currently play i do yeah so i have nine degrees of bounce in this 62 that
i've been playing in my highest lofted wedge okay so you know we have a s a seven which is going to
be our low bounce yep uh a 10 which is going to be our standard and we all have a 60 uh in the high
bounce at 13.
You know what i've noticed with this it digs a little bit we're in a little softer
turf condition here summer Arizona grass a little longer so yeah that high bounce looks pretty
good to me and that's also really important is understand you know hey your attack angle
find the bounce that works best for you yeah um but yeah i saw you hitting this earlier so yeah
i want to mess around with this a little bit more it again all right messing around with some
different wedges some different balance options as someone who plays a fair amount of golf i
feel like i should know this stuff probably a little bit better than i do thinking that maybe
this high balance option will be better for me in testing looking at some data we found that
the low bounce like Tyler said was a little bit better for me i was getting a little bit more
spin a little bit more activation better turf better turf interaction and control but one thing
i really want to touch on with these wedges that i really like aside from obviously the cosmetics
are great i really like this new finish it's got a very square leading edge which i think a lot of
players will prefer is the amount of spin that you can create on just these short little pitches
and that's a testament to this face being able to spin it a ton with these short-sighted kind of
uh you know close pitches uh is a huge advantage we're getting spin numbers 35 3600 an advantage
that is especially in your high lofted wedges wrapping up here big thank you to Dick Highland

we had premium golf balls really nice turf to hit off makes it really fun so as someone who's played
the mg high toe in the past i can confidently say that the improvements that have been made
are noticeable and that's something that's a testament to your r & d team yeah absolutely i
mean they make our job easy to go out and sell it this day and age it's it's really tough to just
keep innovating and uh you know i just love they make my job easy yeah so it's it's been fun and
it's gonna be fun to you know get this wedge in everybody's hands yeah you know big thank you
