Hello to a new driver's license video.
What is actually behind the letters B or BE? Which cars can
you drive with it? And what special rules must be observed? Hopefully you can answer these questions
after this video. The letters B and BE stand for two
different driving license classes. B is the normal car driver's license and BE is the
driver's license with a trailer. Up to this point it was still very easy. But now it's about
which vehicles you can drive with which trailer and with which license class.
So pay attention! A small disclaimer on the side: The decisive factor for the driver's license class is
always the permissible total mass of the vehicle and the trailer.

You can find them in the
vehicle documents. The actual loading is not important here. This means that
in the following I always refer to the weight specifications as the permissible total mass.
The following now applies to class B: You can use it to drive cars up to a permissible
total weight of three and a half tons. The car can have up to eight seats in addition to the
driver's seat and you can also drive with a trailer.

To make the B-category trailer rule a
little more logical, let's run through the two options you have. Variant
one: If you drive a car with a permissible total weight of three and a half tons and a
trailer with less than or equal to 750 kg permissible total weight, then that is permissible.
Variant two is if your trailer has a higher permissible total weight than 750 kilograms,
but the permissible total weight of the complete combination still does not exceed three and a half tons
, this is also permissible. I can see that there were quite a lot of
"permissible total weight sets", but you see, there are ultimately two distributions of the
team. And to make it even more logical , we now have Peter. Peter is going on
vacation. His car has a gross vehicle weight of three and a half tons and his trailer has a
gross vehicle weight of 750 kilograms.

Peter is allowed to drive this team with his B driver's
license, even if the total of the team is now more than three and a half tons permissible
total weight. Example two is, if Peter now drives a lighter car, i.e. a 2-ton
car, the trailer may in this case have more than the 750 kilograms, namely up to one and a half
tons permissible total mass. Because all in all , the combination then has only
three and a half tons permissible total weight and falls into class B. But if the
permissible total weight of the trailer is over 750 kilograms and the permissible total weight
of the complete combination exceeds three and a half tonnes , then that should be the case
No longer drive a team with your B driving license.

Here you have to get the driving license for the BE class
, i.e. the correct trailer driving licence. With the BE driver's license, you can tow trailers
or semi-trailers with a permissible total weight of up to three and a half tons . So significantly
more than 750 kilograms permissible total mass. Finally, a small addition: If
you have class B but want to pull more without getting an extra driver's license, there is
the possibility of increasing your driver's license class with a few extra lessons. This
is where B96 will appear on your driver's license. Below the video we have now linked you again with all the
information on this somewhat more complicated topic . If you have any questions,
just write them in the comments and we will answer them for you as soon as possible.
Bye and farewell! Until next time..
