Hi guys Donal from Golfbidder here. I'm looking
at the Cobra S2 iron. Ok, the Cobra S2 irons replaces the S9 irons in 2009. The S9 came
out in 2008, so a year later Cobra felt the need to change this irons around. And are
they any changes to the S2 from the S9? Well the S2 and S9 both have these polymer inserts
in the cavity of the iron. They have taken away some of the metal and replaced it with
a metal insert. What this does s saved and what Cobra have done is move this weight lower
in the club so it produces a club with a very high moment of inertia. So if you're someone
who owns the Cobra Pro CBs for instance, on robotic testing the S2 would be 35 high in
the moment of inertia or resistance to twist than the Pro CB.
The differences between the
S2 and S9 are quite subtle. There's a little bit straighter face on the S2 than the S9.
There's a little bit less offset. So the S2 and S9 were designed for the better player,
maybe Cobra said hold on a minute the S9 has a little too much offset, let's reduce it
a little for the S2. Also the sole of the S2 is a little bit more narrow than the S9.
As you can see there the bevel is a lot more pronounced on it than the S9.
All together,
a very nice iron. Gets the ball up into the air with the long irons. Nice little bit of
offset. Designed for players maybe 5, 6, 7 and up. If you have the S9 I wouldn't go changing
them. If you have the Cobra Pro CBs then these might be worth changing too. Very forgiving
on offset, very nice Nippon shaft in there. So you can check out the Cobra S2 irons on
Golfbidder..
