Okay, golf is a great game. It's you! In a
lot of sports you might have certain skills that if you're playing tennis or you're playing
somebody in ping pong or in any sport where there's another person on the other side,
you might have certain skills or physical attributes that can help beat those people.
But in golf, it's just you and the ball. So if you're doing stuff wrong, or I mean you're
not having success a lot of times it can get you a little depressed. So what I want you
to help you get over this hump of when you're growing in the game, there's going to be a
lot of failure. So I want you to accept failure, so if you're hitting balls poorly that's okay.
Nobody starts out hitting, see that was pretty bad. Nobody starts out hitting these really
nice shots as beginners. So there's a famous book, I can't remember the name of it but
it's, the quote out of it is "Be like a little child." So when you look at little kids practicing,
if they hit fifty balls and hit one of them good, they're like "Hey mommy look at, I hit
this ball good!" So, where the adult, if they missed forty-nine out of fifty they might
be, you know, needing therapy or going in to get a drink or something.

So I want you
just to stay focused that it's a progression. Don't really get down on yourself if you miss
shots in practice or in playing a round of golf. You got to put a lot of time in. Tiger
Woods has been playing since he was age three and hitting thousands of balls every week
forever. So that's how you get good is repetition, and relax. So if you feel like you're getting
tense and you're not enjoying the practice, take a deep breath, get loose as a goose and
you'll find that you'll get back on track a lot faster that way.
