Hello golfers, back with me Kevin at golf.in Quick Tips today i'm gonna share some tips to you guys about basic tips to hit a driver but before i explain more about the basic tips to hit a driver i'm gonna explain first about the concept of using a driver and the concept of using a driver is different to the concept of using an iron an iron shot is more "hit down", that's the reason why when we hit an iron shot, there is a divot in front of the ball and it is created naturally when we hit down on it and the concept of hitting a driver is the opposite way to the concept of hitting an iron so the concept of hitting the driver is more a "hit up" the clubhead hits the ball when it is swinging up therefore it is called "hit up" The first basic tips of hitting a driver is how high we tee the ball up and the ball position for a driver so how high do we tee the ball up when we hit a driver? So, a perfect tee high when we hit a driver is a half of the golf ball should be above the driver so the base is a half of the golf ball should be above the driver this is an example of a tee height that is too high and this is an example of a tee height that is too low but actually you can use a type of golf tee like this and it can help you, so the tee height will be placed more consistent and easier to apply but because of professional golfers can't use this type of tee, so I just use a normal golf tee and put a mark on it like this so when I tee the ball up, there is a mark on the tee that I can use to be placed parallel to the ground, so later on, I also can place a tee that has the same height consistently and because we need to be "hit up" when we hit a driver so the ball position should be placed inside the left foot to make it easier for us to "hit up" at impact position and the second basic tips of hitting a driver is that the stance that should be slightly wider than the shoulders so this is the shoulder width for the iron or all clubs except for the driver which is usually shoulder width but when using a driver, the stance should be slightly wider than the shoulders so it's gonna be around here the third basic tips of hitting a driver is a square shoulder alignment because most amateur golfers when the ball position is inside their left foot the upper body is like chasing the ball, so it makes the shoulder alignment open and it can reduce the level of consistency so most amateur golfers when the ball position is inside their left foot the upper body is like chasing the ball, so it makes the shoulder alignment open but if the shoulder alignment is square with the ball position inside their left foot this will make our left shoulder higher than the right shoulder and this will help us hitting the ball up at impact position and the next basic tips of hitting a driver the goal is still to help us "hit up" the ball easier so the next basic tips is the left hip that shifted to the left like this this will help us to have a spine tilt that pointing more to the sky later this will help us easier to hit up at impact position because if our spine tilt is pointing to the ground, it will be difficult for us to "hit up" unless if you want to do some extra things at downswing so that you can hit the ball up, but this will make the swing less consistent so if we shift the left hip a little to the left and we have a spine tilt that pointing more to the sky this will help us to "hit up" the ball easier at impact position and the next basic tips of hitting a driver is about how we start the downswing because most amateur golfers release their wrists too early and this will make you lose some club speed so when you start the downswing your wrists shouldn't be moved too much so you just focus on moving the hips and the shoulders but the wrists don't move too much so it'll be like this so don't move the wrists too much and when you're in this position, then you can release the club so this will help you to get a faster club speed and the last basic tips of hitting a driver, this is also as important as the previous tips, is to stay in balance thru the swing so even though we hit the driver at full speed we also have to be able to stay in balance because if we don't stay in balance, this will make our shots inconsistent so that's the quick tips about basic tips to hit a driver if you have any questions about golf please just ask me on DM Instagram golf.in don't forget to subscribe, like, and share to your friends so that your friends can also learn something from this video so thank you guys for watching and see you next time
