welcome back to another that golf grind video
today i'm going to be getting fit for a brand new driver at the pga tour superstore
you're going to see the entire fitting process and make sure you stick around to
the end to see what driver i end up with as you're checking out my current
setup please make sure to subscribe so you don't miss out on any new videos
out here at the pga tour superstore and let's see what driver i get fit for
that's what he says characteristic yeah i mean but the driver honestly i've not mined
where i'm at like it's been pretty like piercing actually let's use that shot come on back for
a second dynamically off the driver there's no cookie cutter way there's certain thresholds
you want to stay between yeah if you and i are designing a potato gun that fires off a golf ball
we're going to have a 12 degree launch conditions in trackman's world they want this number to be
about 2400.
Yeah we're only about 300 revs off there yeah senator's contact was right there yeah
however with that if you just show these numbers from here over i'd say rock and roll yeah but
see that angle of descent that is coming in like a five iron yeah so that was a big thing is i'm
spinning back driver in the fairway yeah so driver conditions uh again you want stopping power of
the irons drivers we want to get the icing on the cake we also want the tumble at the end too yeah
anything moving 176 miles an hour theoretically should roll out more than 18 yards right again i'm
not overly concerned with this number i just need to get these dialed in so first and foremost i
need to get either the spin conditions out you hit up on the ball that one you actually should
have been a little bit of a pull and you still generated 2 700 revs that's the biggest red flag
okay so if we can shallow out this angle descent no driver irons we're looking for distance right
driver grab it what we can but if i can shallow out that 44 degree angle descent we're going to
pick up the sauce so we're going to start off with callaway's triple diamond the lowest spinning
head that they have it also sits the flattest which i think might be a good thing for you is
are my numbers like consistent with where they should be with my swing speed and you know
ball speed so that's a big smoke in yours in my personal opinion people really like to
talk about smash backer yeah so smash factor is a level efficiency swing speed while balls
speed but basically you can have a really high smash factor and have a horrendous shot so even
though that last ball right there you hit dead center it only showed you 1.47 yeah because of
what to do on the spin and all that stuff so yes you're living right we're just
gonna get you having a living better does that feel stable to you michael what
does it feel like it's moving on you still moving on me okay if you are gonna have higher
spin characteristics you've got to make sure you get that launch under control so when you
start launching that sucker to the moon as you know it can turn into a lot of lost yardage and
could also get weight weird as far as the uh dispersion so i'm gonna jump you right over to
the tsi three there's a couple manufacturers out there that still make eight degree heads uh the
taylormade still does that with their stealth and titleist does tsi3 slightly different
shaft just light see how she goes actually come on back for a second michael
yeah some people get stuck on that yeah um i'm actually not worried about it because your
ball speed's jumping up but your carry distance coming up because what your launch is spin ratio
they're doing so and at the end of the day it's just energy energy energy but now you're covering
that thing 316 with yours you were living 303 289 302 so we just picked up you know 50 14 yards
of carry distance just off of going to the later technology now because that spins 600 revs lower
yes this number's still high so we're still up there on that but now you're still picking up that
extra sauce because we're picking up that carrot if this number the carry distance turns into what
your total used to be i don't i'm really concerned about this because there's conditionally
speaking things will change but if you're maximizing that carry you can play better golf
overall yeah so that's the stealth eight degree i went to the hazardous black but i bumped it
up with a 70 gram it's a little more robust degrees is kind of where i'm at oh yeah brother
yeah you can get the eight degree heads with all the manufacturers because they all have
these adjustable sleeves yeah but when you make adjustments to the head you're gonna
slightly open and shut that club face so dynamically something's going to change to the
club some people like it it also will change how it aesthetically sits on the turf some people like
to see an open face some people like to see closed that's all individual stuff so i changed
something on the law for there just changed so if the club sits a little different
or it doesn't suit your eye let me know again if i let you hit that 15 times in a
row you'll figure out how to get straight yeah but it's not going to waste the energy
there's a lot of things people get mixed up is when you de-loft that you actually open the
face yes some people think you shot it put that back down so we'll see how that feels let's see
how that sits on the turf for you better okay all right let me change that shaft around
because i know that shaft works for you i'm actually i have a pre-built ventus 7x uh unicorn okay so now this is a 45-inch playing
length what you just hit was 45 and a half like the golf club especially drivers is all dependent
on how consistent you hit the center of the face does that feel more stable than the previous
shaft a little bit okay i like the stealth head okay yeah nice feels feels good off
the cliff face yeah it feels different i mean i know people say like it's more mushy and
stuff it's definitely different than carbon face but yeah so if you feel that it's kind of more
texturized there yeah so yeah it's probably weave the pattern it actually has more consistency of
that ball what it's doing off the club face yeah so yeah it's a different feel and it's hard
to put your finger on what it is about it does that feel like a feather yeah
yeah let me get that out of there then your launch window is dialed in at 11
right now that's your cuddy sauce right there so i'm kind of playing around with the cg only
right now yeah so cg it's not you know some people say blah blah it's it's not doing anything
everything wants to spin around the highest center of cd so i'm throwing this towards the toe just
to kind of see if i can slow that base rotation yeah because if anything you like to match what
you do on your path to what you do on your face it's actually you're 1.9 with the 0.8 degree
variation you you have a cap for your driver now your face angle is 1.1 so you like to match
those up so you're just a tug guy all day that is not a bad little power fade right there so again i think that slight toes because of
that length i actually don't mind the 45 and a half for you yeah it's just all these are cut
down to 45 yeah i think some of that's predicated while you're on the toe right there that still
never hurts you that's at 9.9 launch 37 degree angle to set 2400 spin 307 330 all day so
you're saying this is a hair shorter yeah 45 inch even yeah okay from what you were hitting
previously yeah the previous there's really no standard or stock um but what these drivers
are coming out these days is usually about 45 and a half i think that's the shot yeah no i
think it has a 7x mantis with a stealthy degree head i got it open down so it's playing about
6.25 really yeah yeah and then because when you kind of visually saw that open i knew you kind
of like to do that yeah so i threw that cg out just to control it again if i wouldn't have said
anything i don't think you would even know yeah yeah i don't think so yeah yeah i think that's a
winner so what do we got here fujikura ventus 7x and that is the villa core so that's the that's
the stout guy right there that's the big boy it's on the lower setting so it's eight degrees
playing about six and a quarter ish right in that ballpark and then i threw the cg just slightly
to the toe if you're in need of a club fitting check out the pga tour superstore their fitters
are amazing huge shout outs to them for having me out make sure you subscribe so you don't miss
