Hey golfers, in this next video i'll be talking about lost golf swing
overnight, keep watching. Hey it's Troy from https://hittingitsolid.com here
thanks for watching. So i'm talking about in this video lost
golf swing overnight. And if you played golf for
any amount of time you would have experienced this where
one day you're hitting it great the next day you just can't find the center of
this clubface. For your irons or your driver no matter
how hard you try you might even be hitting it at the
range right before tee off and hitting it fantastic.
Even the day before and then as soon as you step up to the tee and start playing
around it just falls to pieces.
So what can you
do when this happens to turn your game around and start hitting the ball sweet.
so i'll give you a few pointers here one
with the irons one with the driver and an extra
really important one that can help you hit the ball really solid so with the
irons if you're having one of those days where
you're just hitting a lot of thins or fats or a lot of toe
shots cannot compress your irons here's something that i know jason day does to
really turn his game around i know it'll work
for you as well now i've just got an eye a nine iron
here this will be the same for all of your irons what i like to do if things aren't going
to plan which quite often happens i will choke down on
it now it varies sort of like to leave a couple inches at
the top of the top of the grip there like that that's
the first thing i'll do the next thing i'll do is i'll make more of a
three-quarter swing so instead of making a full swing maybe
where i might get the club parallel at the back i'll sort of take
it back to about here more of a three-quarter swing this
allows me to get a little bit more control of the golf club
the next thing i'll do at my setup i'll show you this from a couple of
different angles i'll just have a little bit more weight on my lead side maybe 60
and then 40 at the back and what that'll do it'll help me get
more of a downward motion and really feel like i can compress the golf ball a
little bit better and the final thing i'll do i've got a
little bit of weight forward as i make my swing
as i come down and through i'm really feeling like i'm playing more
of a punch shot so as i come through i have my hands forward i like that ball
sort of somewhere around the center of my stance
maybe even a fraction further back than i normally would and
as i come through i really accentuate that finish have my
arms particularly this right arm straight
and i'll really hold off the finish something like that
just so i'm really trying to get this club face a lot more stable through
impact and just get the feel of hitting the
ball solid again because if i can't find the center of that face string around
i just want to get that feeling to get my confidence up
on hitting it solid and this little little checkpoints that i do getting
that weight forward little three-quarter
swing and through and i like to really hold
off that finish if i'm doing it right you should see
that the hands go more in and the club go more out and i'm
really holding off that finish i'm not doing a
full finish like that i'm doing a shorter
finish like that so down towards the camera this will just help me get the feeling
of compressing the ball again and get myself back into the game
really compressing into it and getting myself back into the game
getting getting that feel of hitting the ball
solid and turning that round around this really
works super well with your irons next one for your driver what i like to
do a little bit different the same sort of
feels first thing i'll do again if i can't hit
this driver in the center i'll slow down my swing anywhere if i'm
normally swinging let's say 100 i'll slow it down to about 80 or even 70
percent what that'll do
just to help me get my timing back so what i'll do is i'll just slow it
down a fraction that'll help me get the timing of that head and try and
get it more in the center of that face the other really big key with the driver that
works well for me is besides slowing my swing down to about
70 or 80. make a few practice swings before you
hit it and really focus on feeling the weight
of this head so i grabbed the club here i'm really
just feeling like i can feel the weight sometimes when our swing gets off track
we sort of lose a sense of what the club head is doing through impact
and a great way to do this is just take all the tension out of your arms
make nice slow swings really feel really feeling the weight of that club
head and combining that with slowing that swing speed down makes a
huge difference in finding the center of your driver it
really does work and what you'll find as you gradually do this you'll start
hitting a few more in the center as you start hitting a few more in the
center you'll find you can then ramp up your
speed later on in the round and start getting back to your normal
golf swing now the final thing that i like to do
this has happened for me a number of times during a round
is just forget about the swing for a moment if things aren't going well i'll
forget about the swing normally when things are going bad we
start thinking oh i've got to move my hand here my elbow here my leg here and
you're thinking about all these swing positions and
you lose sight of making a natural easy going
free free-flowing golf swing so forget about your swing for a moment forget
about the result where you want it to go as
such and just focus on the target just walk
up to the ball think about that's where i want the ball to go i
want it to go to the target that's all you think about you're not thinking
about any sort of position in the golf swing
thinking about the target i'm thinking about my target
and swinging with not so much of a care where it's going
but let's see what happens attitude focusing
on the target feeling the weight of that club and just
swinging just with a let's see what happens
attitude and that makes a big difference in your
ball striking so those really help you out if you
think these tips will really help you out when your game is falling to bits
