– Hello, and welcome to
episode two of 30 Yards Longer, where we're taking Andy through a series of
three coaching sessions, plus the SuperSpeed training, to see if we can gain 30
yards extra off the tee, wouldn't that be nice? – Yes. Make sure you don't miss an episode of this by subscribing and
hitting the notification bell, so you don't miss one of those episodes. And also if wanna knock
five shots off your score to beat your friends, click on the link down below, because 5 Shots Lower

Make sure you check it out. Okay, Andy, how are you? – Yes, I'm perfectly fine.

Thank you. – Good, good. Now, if you
didn't see the last episode, we took Andy really through
the initial numbers. Got your sort of base
numbers, what your speed was. We did a little bit of
coaching on his golf swing. He was having a little bit of, let's say, out of sync backswing. How has it been for you
the last couple of weeks, from the technical stuff
to the speed stuff? – Backswing feels solid now. Been drilling that in, feels good. Swing path still feels too
far to the left for me, I'm seeing more of a left to
right shape at the moment. – Okay. – Speed definitely seems to be creeping up in small increments at the moment, but it feels easier to
get higher speeds now, even after two weeks. – Good, good. And we'll see in a minute, he's done some great
work on the golf swing. It's definitely looking different, but what we're gonna do in today's session is look at the speed first, then get into the golf swing again, see if we can really advance
that on a little bit.

And then we're gonna wear him out again with the SuperSpeed protocol. He's had his pre-workout ready today. He was tired after the last one, but he's ready for the challenge. So let's kick off, let's get some numbers, let's hit a few shots and
just see where we're at. I think that's the next one. So fire a few away, we're
on the 15th at the Astbury. Drivable par four, is it in danger today? (club swinging) Yeah, a little bit dry. – Beautiful. – That's nice. It split
the fairway, that one. Okay. Let's have a
little look at the data. So Andy, first of all, can you remember what your average speed was last session? – 96. – 96. Okay. – 98.8. – 98.8, so yeah, we're
pretty close tonight. It's a three mile per hour. – Yep. – That's that's a good increase so far. – If you can do that
consistently throughout, then that's really good. – So, three mile and a
half faster, really good.

Couple of things what
we're going to look at, just give me the, the
path, Pierce, on this. Cause you mentioned about
the path being a little left and a little fade-y, will you just give me the path
numbers on this average path? – Club path average is
5.5 degrees to the left. – 5.5. So that's going to
cause this sort of fade, and that's what we're going
to work on today, really. Now, here's what we're going to do today. And we'll go through
the next sort of stage in what we're going to really look at from a technique, a technical aspect. So I'm happy with what
you've done first of all. But if we take a look here now, the club is way outside, above the plane. – [Andy] Yeah.
– On the way back quite a lot. – [Andy] Mm-hmm. – And that's probably gonna to happen because of what we've done. – [Andy] Yup. – And then because of
this now on the way down, watch, we're gonna see the club swing down pretty much in the same spot of where you swung on the way back.

So at the moment, we've
just got a golf swing that's above the plane on the way back, and above the plane on the way down. If we can change that today, that's what's going to affect the path. When the club head, sorry, when the club shaft gets
parallel to the ground, we want the club to be
parallel to the target line. Now yours at the moment, he's
out here pointing across. So what we're really going
to do first of all today is just change the swing
shape a little bit, and see if we can affect the path and get rid of some of
the inconsistencies. We saw a big dispersion of of accuracy there,
– [Andy] Yeah. – But this will also
affect the speed as well. I just want you to tell
me how this feels now. So I'm just gonna swing back. What does this feel like to you? – It feels inside. – It feels inside. Okay, now here's your checkpoint,
and this is the key thing. Your club now is parallel to the ground, but it's also parallel to
your feet and target line, but it feels way behind you there, yeah? Okay, let's do that again.

This is great for you when
you're practicing at home, swing back, all you want to really see is that the club head is in line with the hands at this point. Instead of before we
were a little out here, and that's going to cause us
to swing more across the ball on the way down. So now you're really bringing in the arms, shoulders, hips, and everything together. And seeing that the club is
now what we call on plane, and now we can just continue to rotate, there you go. And then you're done. Can't fail from that. (laughter) I wish it was that easy. And now you're just going
to keep your eyes down, just swing back to me nice and slow. Have a look.

So this is where your checkpoint
needs to be for yourself. When the club's parallel, you
can rehearse that yourself. Good, and again. And notice when Andy's doing this now, the arms and body are
working together, look. And compared to where he was last session, it's night and day. And
again, a couple more times. – It's almost like last session as well, Andy was placing it
there almost, wasn't he, he was just like, just
putting the club there. – Exactly, yeah. And again.
– Not using his body. – A little bit of hip turn. There we go. Have a look at that. So now he's starting to ingrain this. He's got the checkpoint for himself. Really nice. Let's have a couple of
swings back and through.

Okay, so the swing's shape
now is totally different. Good. – It's amazing as well. We're looking obviously to gain
30 yards through this plan, but if we can't get you on plane and we can't get the face
squared up, you know, those are the things that
were really going to rob you. – Yeah. – We can get you to swing
it as fast as you can, but if we can't get you
lined up from a plane and a face point of view,
you're really gonna struggle. – Okay, let's have a few shots then, let's get this one away
and that's just start to get a feel of where we need to be. And you know, you'll see people like Justin Thomas, Ricky Fowler, they have this little pre rehearsal before they hit the shots. And it's just to do
exactly what you're doing , just a checkpoint to know
that they're on plane and in place.

Cause that first part of the back swing really makes a big difference. – Good. – Yeah. It was more of just
a push that one, wasn't it? It wasn't really like a slice. – Paths different. Already? – Yep. – I like it. We're just building Andy up here for that SuperSpeed
training session shortly. He's just getting going, getting going. – Real big drive there. That was much better height on that one. Beautiful flight, beautiful flight. Little high on that one. – Yeah. As we did in the
first session as well, it's important to keep
sort of spraying the face, if you're doing this yourself,
to monitor the strikes. Me and Andy can tell from the ball fly, that one there, we know
the strike was off, but make sure you keep
monitoring that ball striking on the face with the spray.
– Good, now line up. – Yeah, I mean that club
path is getting a lot closer to where we want it now. 1.2 left on that one. So
it's getting a lot closer. – 1.2 Left, okay. Let's have a little look
at the swing then here. And this is important, so we've gone from 5.5 to 1.2 left there.

– Yeah. – Big difference on that speed
was still up there, Pierce? – Speed was still yeah,
it was a little low. It was a little, it was 97, that was, so maybe just try to work at the movements and get those nailed in.
– Yeah. – So, and and what we're
going to start to see here is that the club is still a little left. It's still over slightly, but
now we're in a better position on the way back. Watch. Just notice what we do here. Notice now the club head
is in line with the hands you can see on the screen here, guys, clubs in line with the hands, and then as we swing the club away, now we've got the club, now look, moving much more around
on, on the arc, on plane.

Now on the way down, look, we still have this slightly steep across, but it's a lot less than it was. Again, this is something we
can look at a little bit more on the, on the final session, but now you're in a place where you are not making compensations. Good move away. Good in sync back swing. And we are definitely a little bit more neutral
on the path there. Perfect sense? – [Andy] Yep. – Okay. Are you ready? – [Andy] As I'll ever be. (laughter) – He's ready for some SuperSpeed. You know what? You've made some great increase already three mile mile an hour. It's going to be interesting
to see what we get after the three sessions total really. – [Andy] Yeah. – Okay Andy, so I've had
the week off this week, but I've specifically come
back to make sure we beast you with this SuperSpeed training.

So obviously you've seen
from the first session, we're gonna use the three weighted clubs. We're gonna go through the, the first level protocol as well. We're going to go through the whole lot. If you are interested in
SuperSpeed click the link in the description and make sure you
take advantage of the discount that you get only by
watching these videos. Right, we've got FlightScope in here, if you can swing in this area here. So same as before, it's
exactly the same training. So there's three as fast as you can. Right-handed – And this is the lightest one, is it Pierce?
– Normal swing. This is the lightest one, yes. Green light is blue. – And now we've got a new swing shape to combine with this.
– Yeah. – I love it. – 115.8. That's not fast enough. (laughter) That was better.

119.9 I think 127 is where
you maxed out last time. – Okay, come on, man.
You got it, you got this. – 119.9. – Come on. – 124, right, left-handed now. – Ramp it up. – Carnage on the tee now. – Okay, now don't let go of the club and kill Sean over there. (laughter) – Well, it is Friday the 13th. (laughter) We don't need
one more thing to happen. – He's actually moved (upbeat music) – I'd love to have to have
the WHOOP data on this. – It would be great wouldn't it? – just see what his heart
rate's doing right now. – [Andy] I can tell you. (laughter) – He could tell us. – I could hear it, to be fair. – Left-handed now, left handed. Put him off there and we need 115.4. So back up just a little bit more. – Yeah, we can't make him laugh. – There you go. Come on. (upbeat music) – Okay.

So heavy one now. Nice. Look, I love the plane there. – Swing looks good.
– Swing looks really nice. – The swing, shape now looks really nice. – Ah, come on I can see
his face then grimacing, growl at it. Oh, it was that fast. It didn't get that one
might have just missed it. That's okay. Left-handed now with that one. – Nice 92. Right, faster. – Come on we can get to 100 on this. – Over 95. – 100 on this, go. – 98.1, come on you got it. – 104.9, there we go. So there's something in there. So obviously you figuring
out the technique left-handed is still something that's gotta be – [Andy] Yeah I think so. – Okay, happy Gilmores. No, not happy Gilmores. Thunder steps, steps. Thunder steps. (upbeat music) – Better, 116.8. (Whistle)
Lovely left-handed. (Upbeat music) – Yeah, that was good, real good. – 117.5. Very nice. Okay.

Let's go the blue. Middle weight. (upbeat music) – Nice. – 106.9, that's pretty good. – That is that's good. – 102.5. (Whistle) – Okay. – Always, I always say whenever you get a real low number like that one, it's like, come on, get it going. – It's a good job it's not warm today. – It's roasting now. It really is warm. That was nice. 103. Come on. Let's skip
that 104 and go to 106. – I think you had a go with that one. Oh, I didn't quite get that
one, it missed it. That's fine. That's okay. Right. – Left-handed with the heavy. – Yeah. I was hoping you'd missed that. – Yeah, sorry, not finished now. (laughter) (upbeat music) – 105.6, right? Three more normal.
– Normal swings. – You got to 127, I think it
was, the best on this one. – Yeah. – Let's see what you got.

– 120.5 Lovely. Come on. Good start. 118.5. – Come on then, come on. – Step on it – Last one, last one.
– One over 120. 119.2 – It's amazing to see as well. It's amazing to see the ground. Well done. The ground, look at the ground and this is what to generate power, we need to use the feet and
you look at some of the things that he's doing that we're going speed, he's using the lower body, he's really, and I mean it
just wakes everything up there. So great work there. – Awesome stuff.
– You can have a lie down now. – You can have a lie down, yeah. – Alright, don't forget
if you want to knock five shots off your score, click the link down in the description so you can access the free video series. And also if you are
