WE ENJOY THE FIRST WEEK OF THE SUMMER SEASON, GOLF ENTHUSIASTS ARE SEEING SOME OF THEIR FAVORITE COURSES GETTING UPGRADES. ((JAY PUSKAR)) AT THE RIDGE GOLF CLUB IN WATERFORD, COURSE OWNER MICHAEL O'CONNOR AND HIS TEAM HAVE ENTERED THE NEXT PHASE OF RENOVATIONS WITH A DRIVING, CHIPPING, AND PUTTING AREA BEING CREATED. THANKS TO A VERY WET SPRING, THE PROJECT OF RECREATING TEE BOXES FOR THE TENTH HOLE AND THE PRACTICE AREA GOT OFF TO A LATER START THAN ANTICIPATED.
HOWEVER, IN A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME, THE PRACTICE AREA IS STARTING TO TAKE SHAPE AND IT'S GOING TO BRING MORE CHARACTER TO THE GOLF COURSE OVERALL. Michael O'Connor/The Ridge Golf Club Owner "We've constructed four new tees. So, number ten is going to be a par four. It was a par five. So, we then capture a nice area to put in the practice facility. So, the tees have been built. We cut sod a few days ago. So, those should be up and running in the next two weeks and we'll be flipping the nines and that will be number one. The netted driving range, we're waiting for the poles to come in. The nets, shipping, the supply chain there's a little bit of a delay. Everybody here has been real patient. But next is our chipping green. So, we're going to start on that on Monday.
So, it's taking longer than we wanted, but it's getting there. We're seeing it take form and we're getting close." ((JAY PUSKAR)) ONCE THE DRIVING, CHIPPING, AND PUTTING AREA IS COMPLETED, THE NEXT PHASE DOWN THE ROAD WILL BE COURSE DRAINAGE AND.
