oh new york city um that's a good one there's always some something to do and there's always someone to meet and there's always something to eat and like those three things in golf it's kind of like what else is there it's just a fun place i've been here almost 25 years [Music] and i can't stay living anywhere else this is great [Music] name's andy izakoff i'm a real estate investor by trade and i've been playing golf since about 22 years old so about 28 years now oh yeah from bayonne new jersey half an hour drive without too much traffic half an hour boat ride um if you're going by heli probably five ten minutes i don't come by heli all that off to be able to live in new york city and get to a golf course like this was kind of was a no-brainer it was an absolute no-brainer thursday routine so there's the thursday unemployed routine and there's the thursday employee routine today we're on the thursday unemployed routine which is in certain respects more fun but i think my wife and i agree it's almost time to go back to work so the unemployed routine would ideally start with golf as any great day would always start with golf i'm just so happy to be here every time i'm here i feel honored to be here i just i enjoy it that much because i love golf and the setting is amazing never and i love the contrast the industrial contrast with the city in the back it just kind of all comes together it's really cool we'll be playing device lime i like the line i like the line these are brighter line than some of the other brands are doing which i think is actually great especially when you get in the fall in new york when all the leaves are everywhere they're awesome you know good golf walls are not cheap obviously um golf is expensive sport anyway but it's kind of one of those new york city life things like new york city's expensive you don't walk out the door for less than 20 bucks no matter what you do so nobody loves losing five dollar golf balls and so i've got the pro pluses which i are my favorite balls to hit even as getting to be a better ball striker the other brands they scuff so much easier and so again like you just got to keep buying balls that's what i noticed the most about it was that it had better playability in general i live in brooklyn so brooklyn for those who don't know it's huge it's like one of the biggest cities in the country alone in brooklyn there's a lot of different places but brooklyn still got like just that great flavor you know and uh just keeps it interesting every day you know you never get bored walking down the street um it's a lot of fun i'm not from new york originally i'm from dc go nats go caps but i like when the new york teams do well but other than sports teams i'm kind of new york through and through uh and now i'm a brooklyner so i'm on the brooklyn bandwagon for better or worse used to be every 10 blocks in new york city was a completely different neighborhood with a completely different edge or flavor if you went to real new york come out to brooklyn um you can eat well anywhere but you'll eat like a champ in brooklyn and get a kind of flavor what new york was like 40 years ago so much good pizza out here whether you like deep dish sicilian cheese kind of flowing off the sides a good crust whatever you want they've got it and it's absolutely delicious yeah so i consider myself a food i just like to eat all right go to 500 degrees give me two minutes on the side do this do this perfection you gotta reach down to the very bottom right because that's the freshest look at these like brontosaurus fred flintstone things up there right first the smells which i won't cut through the camera smells floor-to-ceiling food duck fat or a demiglaze or gizzards or i wish we had moved here 10 years earlier i'm shocked how much i like it shocked now it's slightly further from bound that's the only negative what we'll do is uh we'll go back to brooklyn um and around six o'clock leave to play basketball i'm a big basketball enthusiast i'm a nut about it i grew up playing ball i was a ball boy for the washington bullets back in the 80s so like i'm like a hardcore basketball guy and i was in one game a week which we'll play tonight this is just guys i know just a lot of fun and i play it's just like it's my favorite thing to do and you know for people that play basketball to get it it's like you can't replace it so i'm going to play as long as my body lets me play then we rolled down in tribeca where i met a guy 25 years ago playing guitar and he's become a good friend he teaches our kids music our people rolling from bayonne as in beyond golf club they're rolling from our basketball crew and so might imbibe a little bit it happens uh so it's just a great day like there's nothing to complain about [Music] you
