in this golf video I'm going to show you exactly
why over 90 of golfers are still struggling to   consistently strike shots off the Fairway iron
shots Fairway Wood shots okay now in order to   strike the golf ball correctly every single
time you've got to strike the ball then the   turf right now to do that you've got to remember
that the golf swing is an arc it's always an act   for you for me and then therefore because it's
an out the club's going to come up it's going   to come down at some stage it's going to bottom
out here whether you see the bottom part of the   arc and then it's going to gradually rise up again
now if you're catching the ground behind the golf   ball and struggling to strike your irons most of
the time it's because this bit is bottoming out   before the ball come and have a quick look at this
so if you all have an act about golf swings all it   is a case of is making sure the AG bottoms out
in the correct place if you take this out here   if you're constantly striking your irons poorly
thinning them along the ground or fatting them   along the ground you're striking the ground here
so what we've got to do is think about well what   are we going to do to avoid this area well look
at here if my lowest point of my arc is behind   the golf but I'm going to hit this every single
time yeah now to avoid it all I'm going to do   and what I want you to do is work out pushing
this arc on the low Point further ahead and now   look look at the clearance we've got behind the
golf ball here loads of clearance you'll never   Strike the ground behind the golf ball again
so all we've got to do now is work out helping   you to create this Arc so you end up here every
single time I'm going to give you some really   cool proven strategies that work with my students
every single day of the week so let's get started   so let's help you with as many clubs as we can
off the ground so I'll start with an a time then   I'll move to a long line and then I'll move to a
fairway wood so let's start with an issue look you   now are aware that the golf swing's an arc yeah
so that's where the first problem lies so you   may have been told that to strike the bulb good
you've got to strike the ball then the ground   but then I see people trying to maybe look looking
ahead of the golf ball and trying to do this and   all they do is get very choppy you don't need
to do any of that remember your swing just like   mine will always come up it will always found in
bottom and it will always come up again your job   is to make sure that that Bottom's in the right
place so I want you to visualize this for a second   the lowest point of your Arc okay the the lowest
point is when your lead arm and Club line up and   that is directly under your lead shoulder here
that is the lowest point so if you're gonna strike   the ball then the ground and get the lowest point
out of the golf ball you made it better make sure   that your ball position is behind this point okay
now I've got an A Time here I'm going to have that   ball position in the middle of my stance I'll show
you what we do with a long grinder Fairwood in a   second so that's the very first thing we're going
to do balls more Central of my stance yeah now   what I'm going to do and this is the first thing
I'm going to give you three things that work every   time for my students okay the first thing is super
super simple I simply want you to visualize an arc   on the way back and then I want to visualize this
I want you to visualize an inside arc on the way   down so you've got an arc on the way back and
then I want to visualize the ACT almost shifting   towards the Target on the way down okay that is
the first thing I want you to do simple thing   you can take to a golf course most people they
may shift way off the ball here and then they're   still over here when they then swing down what's
going to happen to the ark The Arc now is going to   be luck behind the golf ball we want to keep the
arc as best as we can look over this side of that   ball yeah so first thing I want you to do nice and
simple get yourself set and visualize an art going   back and then a another Arc inside that one going
through it no stairs you trying to hit down on the   golf ball just the mere fact that you have shifted
your Arc across will help you strike the ball then   the turf let's look at this in action so I'm
going to imagine an arc on the way back foreign on the way through okay nice and easy right so the
next question I really want you to ask yourself is   this what else could help you create this Arc and
put it in the correct place now knowing that this   is the center of your eye this is the lowest point
we know that this has to be at some stage ahead   of the golf ball so I want you to Imagine This
think of your feet like scales yeah when you set   up we're gonna I want you to try this if you were
to put 60 of your weight on your lead foot at the   start of your swing yeah and then when you're
coming through imagine that there's almost like   80 or 90 there now yeah do you think that's going
to increase the likelihood that you're gonna get   this ahead of the golf ball and therefore the
ah the low point is going to happen afterwards   absolutely if we start moving around a hell of a
lot you're going to make that kind of low Point   very very inconsistent but if we have a little
bit 60 our weight starting on our lead foot with   our irons and then moving it to almost 80 you're
already naturally shifting that Arc across without   having to try to hit down on the golf ball in
any shape or form yeah so to do this and what I   do with my my students with this is I get them to
almost feel what it's like to be in the finished   position yeah so what we do is this we get them
to feel the balance as they're making their own   scales okay and they'll go okay I'm on 60 right
now what I'm going to do is I want to swing to   a halfway through position back and when you're
approaching impact really feel like you're moving   to 80.

And then extend through so we're finishing
holding that finished position there yeah so it's   on your housing to start with one two and we get
them to hit a few shots and I'll put this behind   you just to show you what I mean so I'm going to
put this way behind and I'm going to miss this   pole here and how I'm going to do it
is simply just to get myself set push   my weight to 80 hold that position and where
we go is a few small shots just to start with probably a bit left this one but it doesn't matter
not too bad okay but you see what I mean so that   gives me that lovely ball Turf contact and when
people do this initially the sensation so my   student Sensations is that it really feels like
I'm over this side of the golf ball absolutely   why because For the First Time your connecting
look the ball you're connecting back here so you   are this side of the golf ball right this is the
sensation most of the time when you're striking it   poorly you're either too level or too far behind
the ball right so the third and final thing before   we maybe go on to what we uh change with maybe the
longer rides in the fairy wood is simple simple   thing but I I do this with a couple machine so a
couple uh uh girls actually chemist uh see me in   one of the things I did really simply for them to
help them feel this is when they once they've got   the concept I simply put a club just on there on
their right ear and I got them to make some swings   not banging into the club but you can imagine the
first thing they're doing this like constantly and   if you move off the golf bars you know you're
going to shift that act too far over here too   much it's hard to get back so when when you're
trying to get consistency try to keep really   steady initially it's okay to have some movement
once you've developed stripe because you now know   the destination you need to get to but in the
first instance I would always aim to try to   stay nice and steady with your head it's okay to
Pivot it but don't move it off imagine you've got   something pressed against your trollia over
that golf ball there then hit it okay so in   a nice great another great visual that you can
take straight to the golf course I get myself   set imagine that something's really touching that
right ear and let's see if we can hit nice simple   shot over onto that flag there we go okay so
what changes would you make then with let's   say a longer iron well not much apart from the
ball position so you still want to have the low   Point afterwards but what I do is if the a Tiny's
middle of my stance okay all I'm going to do is   I'm going to move my five line up one ball that's
all I'm gonna do so I do exactly the same thing   I'm going to move the ball now from the center
of my stance I'm going to move it one ball up   and that's all you need to do with the long grind
you just simply push the ball up in your stance   you maintain that pressure favoring your lead
side 55 60 on that lead side but then John's   rinse and repeat what you did with the a time
but nice and confidently okay so wind it back   wind it through fully committed to the shot as
you did do with the a time and you're going to   start to see some Quality quality shots now
if for any reason you're doing this and it   doesn't work and you're not striking it often
it's because the longer rides like a five iron   what often happens is if people aren't getting
the elevation so what you tend to do is you try   to then help that ball up in the air and it kind
of really ruins your your swing and therefore your   low point so if you do find that well Danny I'm
striking the ball then the turf but the ball's   not going very high it might mean that you need
to shift from a longer iron ditch those and go   to like maybe I've got five on here a five hybrid
that will get the ball up in the air a lot faster   and give you the confidence to really commit to
what we've talked about so let's now move on to   five wood and explain sometimes my Fairwood
are trickier to hit but how you can overcome   them now there's no getting around it as you
move from your eight high end to then maybe   your longer eyes like a five I know your Fairy
Woods it does get trickier to strike the ball   and here's the reason why we said before look we
want this low point the bottom of the app where   does it happen it happens underneath your lead
shoulder which relative to your stance look is   going to be this side of your stance now when
the ball I can is back in your stance like it   would be for an eight iron there's lots of kind
of clearance here you know you're never going   to hit as long as you have the low Point here
you're never going to hit the ground you're   going to strike it beautifully every single time
as you move that from a five iron look there's   still a pretty decent amount of clearance there
so you're not going to really strike if you do   what we've been talking about you won't strike it
badly problem when you move to a five wood look   we now get to a stage where there isn't a lot of
ground coverage so the margin of error is much   tighter and therefore you're more likely to catch
it a little bit fat so let me show you now some of   the things I personally do and I help my students
do to strike their Fairy Woods really well as well   as they can possibly do almost like an iron so I
thought it'd be fun to bring you to the 18th here   at Wentworth I've got 241 yards to go and look
I've progressed you know I can hit my fair words   I can hit my long ads and I can hit my mid-irons
but you might find that you've nailing your your   eight iron but you haven't quite progressed and
got your five iron going yet not a problem stay   around five and until you've got it remember
the margin of error gets smaller as you move   up the club so it is tougher to hit them so get
your five iron going then move on to the airfare   which once you're ready it's about just committing
to this so I've got a ball position now just two   inches inside my lead heel all I do is I'm not
trying to hit down and remember I'm going to   just the the bottom of the app will happen just
after this golf ball here but I'm committing to   a beautiful flowing motion and let's see if we
can launch this fairy wood onto the deck nice   steady of the ball not moving off it the keep
myself nice and steady and let's give it a rip big Curry can he get over the water   come on no no yes we did it okay so I hope you
enjoyed this session remember get the low point   after the golf ball with every single Club in the
bed including your Fairy Woods get those points   visualize those Acts if you enjoyed this video
