unfortunately you are going to be given so many golf tips from well-meaning friends who just love to share their way of playing my advice to you is to not politely but only take advice from your golf coach they are the experts if you try to take on board everybody's opinions you will end up totally confused as a beginner you don't always need to aim for the flag stick sometimes it is far too risky a shot as it might be near the edge of the green or guarded by bunkers instead set your target for somewhere safer but still on the green always have a game strategy that suits your level of play new golfers often become very self-conscious which results in them rushing their swing and gripping the club far too tightly as well to prevent this chain reaction use a pre-shot routine and learn deep breathing it will settle your mind and body
